What is First Transaction Margin 🤔?

The First Transaction Margin feature allows HelloMe Money admins to adjust exchange rates or service fees specifically for a customer’s first transaction. This is often used as an incentive to attract new customers with more competitive rates or discounted fees on their initial send.

Tenant	Filter by tenant.
Source Country	Filter by where the transaction starts.
Destination Country	Filter by where the money is sent.
Status	Filter by whether the rule is Active or Inactive.

Column	Meaning
Tenant	Tenant this rule applies to.
Source Country	Origin country of the remittance.
Destination Country	Receiving country for the money transfer.
Exchange Rate Increase	Extra value added to the exchange rate (flat = fixed amount, percentage = % boost).
Service Fee Decrease	Amount or % by which the service fee is reduced for the first transaction.
Status	Active or Inactive.
Action	Edit or deactivate the margin rule.

🔰 Add First Transaction Margin

To create a new margin:

Field	What to do
Tenant	Select the tenant.
Source Country	Choose the origin country.
Destination Country	Choose the destination country.
Exchange Rate Increase*	Enter the fixed amount (flat) or % boost (percentage).
Service Fee Increase*	Enter the amount or % for the fee adjustment (can be negative for discounts).

🔰 Edit First Transaction Margin

To update an existing margin rule:

Field	What to update
Tenant	Confirm or change the tenant.
Source Country	Update the origin country if needed.
Destination Country	Update the destination country if needed.
Exchange Rate Increase*	Adjust the fixed amount or percentage.
Service Fee Increase*	Adjust the fee amount or percentage.
Status	Set the rule to Active or Inactive.

🔰 Understanding “Flat” vs “Percentage”

• Flat: A fixed amount is added to the exchange rate or subtracted from the fee.
  Example:
  • 1 - flat → Add 1 unit to the exchange rate.
  • 4 - flat → Add 4 units to the exchange rate.
• Percentage: A percentage adjustment instead of a fixed amount. Example:
  • 5% → Add 5% to the exchange rate or reduce the service fee by 5%

Note:

• Use flat for fixed value adjustments (e.g., 2 - flat).
• Use percentage for percentage-based adjustments.
